It's officially the last week of quarter 3 and students are working hard to complete any outstanding work/assignments for the quarter.  We have a  busy week with PICTURE DAY tomorrow (Tuesday, March 20th) and EARLY RELEASE (Friday, March 23rd).

We are heading into a heavy focus on reviewing reading & math skills for the EOG, along with preparing students for the set-up of their first major assessment.  More information will be coming home about EOG's in late April and early May.  So if you have any questions, hopefully we can answer them all soon.

Learning Objectives:
Reading - Author's purpose
Writing - narratives
Math - permutations, combinations, & probability
Social Studies - Changes Over Time

Today and tomorrow are some of my most excited days when it comes to professional development!  Mr. Tart, Mrs. Dibona, and myself are attending and presenting at NCTIES 2012!  "The mission of NCTIES is to provide leadership in educational communications and technology by linking all who hold a common interest in the use of educational technology and its application to the learning process."

During the next two days we will be learning, sharing, exploring, and becoming even more motivated to continue to teach 21st century skills to our students.  I can't wait to come back

As we return from track out, I am so happy to see all the smiling faces enter the classroom again.  Everyone seems well rested and ready to go!  The next three weeks will mark the end of 3rd quarter and report cards will be sent home March 23rd.

With the end of 3rd quarter comes the many pressures and stresses that students face with testing.  I'm trying my best to reassure students that everything will be fine, as long as they try their hardest.  Please also do the same with students at home and let me know if they are more worried than usual about the EOG.

In order to help prepare students for the EOG, part of their daily classwork is a set of vocabulary words for either reading or math.  The students have an orange document going home today explaining this new classwork.  Please read and return the bottom portion!  There will be other activities and documents going home in the coming weeks with updates about EOG's and new ways we are trying to review all of the material for the tests.  Keep your eye out for those!
