As our school year comes to a close, there are a few reminders of events taking place.  Monday, June 27th, at 6pm Track 2 will have meet the teacher.  We highly encourage rising 4th graders to visit their teacher for next year with their parents.  Also, on Wednesday, June 29th, at 2pm, we will be hosting the Team Sonntag Premier of "Fractured Fairytales!"  Students have been working hard on the 4th quarter objective of participating in creative interpretations and our final product is a set of movies.  For the premier, family & friends are invited to join us in the classroom to view these amazing movies, featuring your child!

On June 30th, students will be having their last day of school.  In class we will be doing a variety of "wrap up" activities and the students are welcome to bring in a board game of their choosing to play with their peers.  Report cards will also be going home this day, along with any other personal materials/work that is remaining in the classroom.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for an amazing school year and I feel so lucky to have had such amazing support from all of you!  This year was full of excitement, adventure, & learning!  Without the support and involvement of parents & family, many of our events would not have happened.  So again, thank you for all that you do and I will miss you all dearly!

Sincerely,
Ms. Sonntag

Welcome back Team Sonntag!  I hope everyone had a wonderful track out!  We only have about 2 weeks left in school, because the last day of the 2010-2011 school year is June 30th, 2011.  It's hard to believe that our 3rd graders are already going to be heading upstairs to the 4th grade wing!  I'm so proud of each and every student, because they all have worked so hard.

Some excited news to share with everyone, is that we officially have a new principal!  Mrs. Graf is our new principal and has already made a visit to our classroom to meet the students.  We are very excited to have her here with us, so if you see her in the building greet her with a friendly Banks Road greeting!

As the year comes to a close, the students are working on a few large projects in class.  For reading and writing, students are researching & writing 3 paragraph research papers about an animal of their choosing.  So far the students have found some great information and are really enjoying themselves.  We also are working on our plays/skits for 4th quarter, which will be turned into movies for the last week of school.  As of right now we are looking at doing our Team Sonntag Movie Premier on Wednesday, June 29th, around 2pm!  So all parents and family are invited to join us!  Please look for more information regarding the premier in next weeks Friday Folder!  Lastly students are finishing up the remaining Social Studies, Science, and math objectives with interactive centers each day.
