Updates:
Fall is in the air Team Sonntag! Now that we are back from our first Track Out, it seems like it all is coming together. We are wrapping up the 1st quarter and falling into a comfortable pattern in school. It was a wonderful first few days back and I hope to see the same great behaviors as the month continues.
This past week we have been learning about poetry and figurative language. The students have also been completing their writing conferences in order to publish their stories by the end of next week. In math, we just ended our short unit about permutations & combinations, which you can find the video on our site as well. Since our science unit about soils has ended, we started our new social studies about Citizens & Communities.
Next week we will continue to work on the same poetry lessons, social studies unit, and writing skills. In math, we will start a quick review of measurement concepts and then extend those previous skills with more 3rd grade content (mm, cm, dm, m, km). We also will be learning about algebraic equations and variables with numbers sentences
like 16 + y = 30. (This video will be posted next week).
